Pros

The front line staff and volunteers are the biggest assets of this organisation.

Cons

Top down lack of empathy and understanding and value with regard to volunteers. Disconnection between saying volunteers are crucial to the success of the organisation and treating volunteers as such. Unwilling to provide approprite support for staff and volunteers in order for roles to be carried out with confidence. Collaboration actively discouraged. Bullying behaviour displayed and accepted by CEO and others in senior positions. Including public 'dressing downs' Belief and over reliance in automated processes to improve services; little value is placed on the personal touch. Decisions regularly made without thinking projects through, meaning staff spend time and energy on projects which are never seen to completion. Concerns around how safeguarding processes are communicated, handled and viewed by relevant senior staff. Overall, the most toxic working environment I have ever encountered, where staff are isolated, undervalued, and in constant fear of public humiliation, or losing their jobs by simply being themselves and doing their best to help those facing loneliness and social exclusion.

Pros

• Excellent homeworking equipment is provided for the staff with the ability to request additional items to help with accessibility. • Hours are flexible. • Expenses are covered when travelling to events. • Fantastic health care plan. •Those on the frontline work are passionate and work exceptionally hard.

Cons

• Senior management is the biggest barrier in Re-engage being successful. They are shambolic, with desicions being made only to appease those who shout the loudest or deemed the most powerful. • There is a high level of favouritism, undermining, and behaviour that can only be described as bullying from management . Although this has been brought to their attention, and caused several resignations every month, they continue this atrocious behavior. • The organisations obsession with growth has resulted in unachievable targets along with overworked and overstretched staff. • Recently teams have been discouraged from collaborative working and micromanaged to an unbearable level. • Job roles are changed without consultation. • Ironically, it is the loneliest job I have ever been in.
