Troubles with stock options buyout when leaving the company

There was a strong engineering team

The entire original team left the company, many of whom had stock options. As far as I know, almost none of them were able to exercise their options due to the CEO's actions

Interesting product to work with. A team was great once.
Cons
Unfortunately the management is chaotic, many experienced people were laid off without or with a very short notice period. fast work is demanded but but the management does not tell what they want to achieve.
