Pros

Awesome colleagues who'll suffer with you. Cosy environment. Near MRT station

Cons

Expected to stay till late If you're married please DO NOT WORK HERE You're expected to agree with her the CEO. She's right. She's the law. No, you can't say no to her. No, you can't disagree with her. She instill fears. You are expected to deal with her crazy mood swings. She either screams at you in person or via text. Work don't ends at 6pm, her texts will go on till 2am. Please make sure you reply to that too. Management is always late!!!! Late for meetings, late for everything.

Pros

Office is close to the mrt station, pretty decent amount of canteens and restaurants around. Pretty quiet and comfy place. Colleagues here are AWESOME, maybe because 95% of them are interns; we are all empathetic towards one another. Maybe learn LOTS of things, I suppose, if you are into those kind of things.

Cons

Get ready for the best time of your life! You will not only get involved in lots of things here that is irrelevant to your job scope but also have the chance to get up close and personal with the earth's greatest species, the octopus! That's right, this CEO, claiming to be the octopus and having studied crisis management, you can now experience it yourself! But be careful, this octopus freaks out over the tiniest matter so you do not want to trigger her. Tries too hard to impress people. Also, be prepared to work your butts off, especially on things that isn't required on your job scope, deliver salads to customers maybe? But oh well, you might get to "experience many things in this company that would shape you into a hybrid that would be prepared for anything because you don't normally get to work on different things like other companies do." Oh right, did I mention that we are a mutant school now? Apparently it's even better than Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters. Hmm, try again Ms Rita, maybe a little more originality perhaps. Remember kids, always address the CEO as Ms Rita- Not Miss nor Madam nor whatever, MS Rita. Last but not least, to survive in this dying MEDIA company, a thick jacket is essential. When I say thick I really mean THICK. This place is equivalent to the North Pole. Also bring your own snacks or something because the pantry is more on the lacking side.

Pros

Nice, fun, wacky colleagues to work with, bonds built over disdain for management. Cosy office in within walking distance of good food.

Cons

Management is always late for meeting. Time management skills are terrible. Expects employees to stay back for meetings at 7pm due to the 'multi-tasking' octopus abilities of management. Being a start up, pay is peanuts. Still expects employee to perform tasks and functions that are out of job scope as though they are being paid 10 times their current pay. During pay negotiation and offering of contract, will inform potential employee that company is a startup, hence pay is low. Management promptly contradicts that a few months later by claiming company is not a startup when it suits the company's agenda. Management makes company the most inefficient and unproductive one this employee has worked for. Despite multiple and early reminders to management to buy stock items, management will insist on inefficient multi-tasking, miss deadlines to buy stock items and cause hardships to employee. Claims take a terribly long time to be processed. They are paid out at least 2 months after employees have left the company. This is after repeated cajoling and reminder; management blames everything under the sun for delay. This is in direct contravention of Singapore's manpower laws, where all salaries and claims need to be paid out on the last day of an employee's tenure. Management still threatens to withhold claims, claiming processes have not being put in place whilst employees were employed in the company. Inefficient work processes by management means that there is no peace even during weekends. Phones will beep with incessant messages even at 1am in the morning, with management demanding answers. Ignore at own risk. Management needs to be placated and managed like a little child. Management is prone to nepotism, despite repeated claims not to do so. They are free from blame with employees baring the brunt of it. Let's face it, who scolds the children of management despite repeated mistakes. When one resigns, they are put into cold storage. They are publicly shamed with veiled referrals to furnitures, deadweight and jokers. Management spreads fear amongst current employee by telling that the economy is terrible and employees who leave will have a hard time finding jobs. This is definitely not true, employees who have left this company have all found jobs, with much better pay and working conditions, including this employee typing this review. Let it be said that working at Reta have not helped in securing my current job, in face Reta have been excluded from my resume altogether, enough said.
