I have been working at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars full-time

    Pros

The opportunities are endless for Apprentices, and it’s a great way into the business as they allow you to try lots of new things.

    Cons

Communication is poor, as always ‘it’s not what you know it’s who you know’ can play a big part in your success here.

I have been working at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars full-time

    Pros

    - very good pay rate - payments are always on time - car park on site

    Cons

    - RR is only hiring people through agencies with a temporary working contract, so forget about sick pay or maternity leave. - no chance of getting permanent contract even after few years working as a "temporary staff". - working contract is giving as much flexibility as possible. For the company. On top of 40 hours standard working week they can call you in any Saturdays with a very short notice. Even for the late shift. You can't make any plans in advance. - you can't make any plans over Christmas too. "We might need you in". You will be told if company needs you literally 2-3 days before Christmas so if you have a family abroad, last minute tickets will cost you a fortune. Or they might be sold out. - when company doesn't need you, those days will be unpaid unless you use your holiday allowance. - managers can easily move you between departments without even asking you if you like your new role or not. No explanation of those decisions will be given. - some of managers are rude and shouldn't be working with people. No complains will help. Overall experience - you are just a number there. Nobody cares about you. If you leave, they will quickly find someone else. You shouldn't have your our private life. Single person with no family who is willing to work 7 days a week will be ideal candidate for this place. Many people feel exhausted and leave saying "I had enough of this place". You should have very strong mental health to survive there.

I worked at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There is a lot of pride in working for a brand with such rich history. It is still a job so if you are not ready to work, look elsewhere.

    Cons

It is a flat organization but the best will always find success. Work-life balance was a challenge but this is consistent with the auto industry.

I have been working at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Really good benefits for employees including outstanding wage, extra days of annual holiday, cash bonuses, company car, private healthcare, private pension, etc. Very good workplace with modern offices when comes to infrastructure Part of the huge BMW Group and therefore occasion to have BMW contract in one of most stable automotive group globally Outstanding product Located in beautiful South Downs next to English Channel Exciting projects (and also very demanding)

    Cons

Once achieving certain job grade it’s difficult to progress further in career Very big workload during new product launches Some management people may be difficult to work with also due to amount of rules and processes that has to be followed Parking onsite can be difficult if you live locally (although improved a lot in last year) Place can be really stressful during production peak times (which is norm in car companies)

    Pros

Great products to work on. Good perks such as additional annual leave days for long service, company car scheme.

    Cons

Working environment is slipping back to the 1970's. Without other larger companies locally for people to jump to, the pressure is off to improve working conditions. HR policies and process are not there to support the employees but just to protect the company.
