Pros

Friendly and effectige direct team. Some good hybrid working benefits.

Cons

Right now Runa is a shambles. The founder thinks he can be a CEO, head of AM’s, head of partnerships, and push everyone out but not offer any support as an actual manager then gas lights people who challenge him. It's called narcissism. Turnover is high and there is no psychological safety. It’s an anxiety provoking culture.

Hello, Our CEO is the first person to say we need more GMT leadership and these hires are of the highest priority. It is shortsighted and simply unfair to criticise him for taking ownership and filling the gaps while we hire new leaders for our next stage of growth. We’re in the process of hiring at leadership level for our Customer Account Management and Partnerships Account Management teams and both teams have been consulted about the needs for these hires. That aside, since the CEO has taken on the responsibility of these teams there has been an increase in performance and productivity. Across all levels, when individuals are underperforming they are given the chance to improve, with performance plans and regular written and verbal feedback. Only in cases where there isn’t an improvement in performance, would we consider parting ways. Our value of Build Trust' is the ability to challenge one another to win, which means prioritising the right answer over being right. This isn’t a culture of gas lighting. There isn’t a hierarchy where one person’s questions or concerns are seen as more or less important because of their seniority. We regularly review our eNPS and monthly pulse surveys to understand employee happiness and ways for us to improve. Over the past 3 quarters, 89% of people in the business either agree or strongly agree that people are treated fairly. I'd be more than happy to discuss further. Toxic culture

Pros

Good problem to solve and helpful colleagues

Cons

The CEO's leadership style fostered a culture of fear and intimidation, stifling creativity. Despise Founder's claim to welcome challenges, expressing dissent often resulted in him becoming upset. Additionally, a finger-pointing culture prevailed and employees got “deactivated” very often.

Hello, Our CEO is constantly encouraging teams and individuals to innovate, challenge one another and think creatively to problem solve. This means challenging one another to drive the right outcomes, which specifically ties to our value of building trust. Our eNPS results show that over 80% of employees feel Runa lives it's values and trust in the the leadership team, and over 90% are treated fairly which refutes your suggestion of intimidation and fear and is factually incorrect. We have a clearly defined and structured performance management framework companywide, people are not simply 'deactivated'. When individuals are underperforming they are given the chance to improve, with performance plans and regular written and verbal feedback. It is only in cases where there is no improvement in performance that we consider parting ways. At this point we provide transparent communication to the company about the situation. I'd be happy to discuss further if you wish to oliver.lochhead@runa.io Best, Oliver Senior Talent Manager

Pros

-Runa has some great team members who foster collaboration and encourage others to share their knowledge, ideas and opinions. Sadly, this is few and far between. -The company offers a wide range of benefits that foster a good work-life balance, allowing employees to work flexible hours and providing generous parental time off. This is the one thing that keeps employees at the company. -Runa has started to provide structure around opportunities for professional growth and development, offering various training programs including management training and soft skills opportunities.

Cons

-Leadership through fear, the founder and CEO creates a culture of fear. They are intimidating and not very approachable despite putting opportunities in place. --Employees are scared of repercussions of challenging them. -The company could improve its communication and transparency, especially with regards to decision-making processes. -Runa is a small company, which means there may be limited opportunities for career advancement.

Hello, In our engagement surveys over the past 3 quarters, 90% of employees agree or strongly agree that their team collaborates well with other departments when delivering against responsibilities, which wouldn’t suggest that collaboration is few and far between and is in fact consistent practice across the organisation. 89% of Runa employees believe in the vision of Runa and feel motivated to achieve its mission, which is a good indication as to why people are committed to the company, not the benefits. Further to this point, we are growing significantly which presents huge growth opportunities for high performing employees at Runa. In Q2 alone we confirmed 8 promotions which relate to career advancement. Challenging one another ties to our core value of building trust and is practised companywide. We have processes and opportunities in place to encourage this, it is often referenced by the CEO and leadership in company wide meetings, 1-2-1’s and in day to day working. There is categorically no evidence of leadership through fear, and data shows that trust in decisions made at leadership level is at its highest. At each Company Sync and All Hands, our CEO hosts a dedicated Q&A or AMA session where you’re empowered to ask any questions. During these sessions there are also updates on company OKR’s, strategy updates, key decisions and insights into financial performance, so it's difficult to be much more transparent. We’ve also launched an internal newsletter to round up any company updates and news at the end of each month, which ensures consistent communication in real-time to bring other matters to the attention of the organisation when required. You’re also encouraged to raise any questions to your manager or speak to your People Partner in real-time. The data and examples I have provided show that your views are somewhat isolated, and are not consistent across the organisation. Should you wish to discuss further I would be more than happy to, or use the available channels internally - oliver.lochhead@runa.io Thanks, Oliver Senior Talent Manager
