Pros

The best part of the job is the way your coworkers become family. I loved my job and truly loved the products but the fact that I had been there for 3 years, and instead of getting a raise, I made less the third year due to them forcing me to become salary. I worked harder due to staff leaving and stayed longer hours. It was my breaking point. It’s tough. Personally, the owners are amazing people and you can see their hearts. Unfortunately, I think they’re too close to the business that sometimes it effects the culture and business decisions.

Cons

Extremely Low pay, no room for advancement, and can be a toxic environment. There is no AC so buckle up during the summers. The owners will see you being friends with your coworkers as a downfall.

Pros

Coworkers are great, a lot of good people. The company can have its good days, when the owners are in a good mood.

Cons

PAY: Besides the manufacturing team, everyone is getting well underpaid their position's average salaries (in many cases, by 10-20k). The logic the owners' use is that most people are hourly, so if you work an extra 15 hours a week then it'll even out. And they'll also get mad if you don't work at least 5-10 hours of overtime weekly. The issue is the product they sell doesn't lend itself to high profits, so they literally can't give everyone the salaries they deserve. All that to say, if you think the offer is low, I assure you it won't go up with time. CULTURE: Your day will be positive or negative based on the owners' moods. They're both involved enough in every department that there is no escaping it. I've known several people who just up and quit on a day that they were both in a particularly bad mood. Some days are definitely good, but if you ever once are doing basic "water cooler" socializing, are in the wrong department, looking at your phone, etc. it will be remembered, and it will be brought up on a bad day. It takes less than a handful of times for the owners to eventually bring it up to you. I'm seen as an exceptional employee at my current job, for example, but at RM I was considered lazy and chatty. CAREER OUTLOOK: It is technically a startup, but just fair warning that your career growth won't be huge. They rarely promote internally (although to be fair, they have once or twice), they mostly will look for someone else. And in each department, there is usually only one person above you, if anyone at all, so there aren't plenty of opportunities. The business itself has one large company that brings most of the revenue, and this past year they've shown to be unstable, so there is always a month-to-month thought that they may stop placing orders.
