Styl is a newer and smaller company, so growing pains are to be expected. Zero structure and organization, however. Very cliquey and a clear culture of harassment and bullying is acceptable. Personally, I had rumors spread by a coworker at a sister site, and had false statements about my personal life cause an entire team to isolate myself and my team. Disparaging comments and rumors regarding my personal life began to circulate to the point that I was forced to leave the company. Maintenance team members refused to assist, per the direction of their supervisors because my staff made mention of reporting the bullying directed to a staff member to HR. Those perpetuating the rumors were promoted. HR gave little attention to this and never addressed the individuals involved, which prompted me to reach out to file a claim with EEOC. For months, myself and my staff as well as others were forced to endure both harassment and threats made toward team members, each instance documented with HR. 90 days later the individuals threatening and harassing were finally let go, after begging from staff and reporting that we felt unsafe to come to work. Team members at other sites have complained about the culture and atmosphere as well to no avail. Confidential information is shared with subordinates and maintenance team members, including budget, salary info for other employees, personal business observed after hours regarding intimate lives of employees shared with multiple sites, etc.
All in all, this company has potential, however attitudes, culture and ego's need to be curbed. Hire experienced candidates to fill positions rather than offering promotions to fill spots that are left vacant and actually get new hires. Speak to on site staff regarding working environments, rather than avoid them. Address issues head on and hold individuals accountable. Remember, at the end of the day, this is property management, not a high school cafeteria
