Cons
As an employee that really cared about the company and their work, I have to say that this company does not, really, care about the mental stress of their own employees. The attitude is take on a goliath amount of work, and if you express anything but enthusiasm, your credibility is at stake. To say that former employees simply “couldn’t handle the work” is reductive, insulting, and ultimately lacking responsibility for their own high turnover. While I do believe that management is trying to make positive progress, there is a pervasive stubbornness about admitting biases (gender, race, etc.), and feedback from the team, like, feeling under-staffed or under appreciated. Furthermore, management has a lack of sensitivity or class when communicating with their team. For example, turning down people for promotions (sometimes when they didn’t even apply), is often blunt with the back-handed attitude of “you’re perfect where you are,” or even that promoting you would hurt the company. The job seems more like an emotionally abusive boyfriend that beats you down then makes grand gestures to make it up to you.
