Pros

It's a very old, established, privately owned business. Great Employees!

Cons

Poor leadership/ executive management - "Good Ole Boy Network" It's a very old, established, privately owned business. The owners are far removed from the people who are making the organization run - they are only interested in the money coming in and maintaining their affluent lifestyle. There is no encouragement of work/life balance, employee professional development or continuing education. They also don't reward or recognize top employees. Employee compensation is not very competitive.

Pros

I was able to make some new friends.

Cons

Screaming sales manager. This guy has never had a management role or training. His ego was only exceeded by his tales of his past glory as a salesperson.

Pros

Learned some sales techniques that were helpful. Got to see how a newspaper was printed and regulated. Enjoyed working downtown.

Cons

Threatened to be fired each and every week up until I started and when I quit. Senior executives enable you tell tell lies and false information in accordance to sell any product possible. Sales pitch they gave me was awful and sounded like a telemarketers pitch. Senior executives were offensive and not intellectual by any means.
