Very manipulative and dysfunctional leadership team

Pros

-One thing the leadership team has done well in the past is hire great people outside of the leadership team. While pretty much all of my friends have left Save the Storks at this point, I have made some of my closest friends through my job here. -Your job as purpose and it is easy to be passionate about the cause. -Coffee, snacks, and fun work events and trips.

Cons

The leadership team is manipulative and totally misguided in their approach to leading a team of people. They make six figures, while everyone else is making a little above minimum wage. It often felt as though they used prayer and devotionals to manipulate their staff into "trusting" them despite there being no reason to trust them and their decisions. In the past year, they have lost over a dozen employees, which for a very small organization should really say something.

Pros

Save the Storks is an organization unlike any other. Our cause and heart is really something that makes this place amazing. Working here has created a lot of personal growth and professional experience. This place thinks big, then develops a plan to make it happen! Co-workers are amazing and fun! Lunch together is a regular occurrence and daily devo or weekly team meeting helps bring all the departments together.

Cons

Flexibility and problem solving is a must. Some people aren't cut out for it. If you need your hand held... look elsewhere. If you don't have a working understanding of communication/personality styles you'll struggle.

Pros

Hardworking, intelligent, creative and fun staff members who believe in the mission and support each other unconditionally. Leadership that listens, cares and is now focused on the importance of work/life balance. Wonderful office environment and culture where management and staff trust and encourage each other. Great activities focused on teamwork, collaboration and the free snacks, coffee and soda are added bonuses. Devotional time everyday where we pray for each other's needs, and the needs of the community and the pro-life movement. Moving into hip new open-concept office space with tremendous views of Pikes Peak and the front range. Vibe is more like an L.A. creative agency than a non-profit. Oh, and we love potlucks!

Cons

Not many cons. Monthly stipend for health insurance has been helpful; they will soon be providing coverage for employees.
