Pros
Company Culture was amazing. Work life balance was exceptional.
Cons
Since the acquisition by CTL the company has been extremely volitale. The company has had a hard time with creating a one Company mindset.
Pros
They have health benefits as required by US labor laws. They pay you on time, usually. Want to sit around and not do your job? This is the place for you. No one is held accountable, no one cares and no one knows. Goals and numbers are made up last minute and you are judged harshly anyhow.
Cons
Absolute Chaos. The problem with Savvis is that there is no corporate culture. Its as if they took people from all corners of the earth and threw them under the general umbrella of a company name with no direction, authority or even general job description outside of "make money". Things like honestly and work ethic are secondary if even that once you get to the Senior Manager level. Manager and lower are beaten down with moving goals so no one cares and no one is driving this thing.
Pros
Room for growth, great pay (IF you land a good job), great company culture, flexible.
Cons
Hiring managers "pick" who they want "personally" instead of professionally...(i.e. a person with no degree or previously worked as a waitress can get a job over a person with a college degree and years of corporate experience. College degrees are not really a factor when choosing a candidate and pay does not depend on college degrees....if the the manager "personally" like you; then you will be compensated.
Pros
Objectively speaking, the company has a nice portfolio of managed services that are on par or better than the competition. The culture is good - sales org is a lot of fun and good work atmosphere. As are the service teams.
Cons
Dysfunctional in the delivery and ops side of the house.
Pros
Great support from my leadership, good products, company was growing quickly, on the leading edge
Cons
Savvis culture got lost when CenturyLink bought them. It became a large telecom culture.
Pros
some great people, really hard workers (but not appreciated) great basic salary
Cons
convoluted processes, clueless management, out of date pricing, lagging products for a fast pace environment, blame culture, all the teams seem to be penalised on commission and performance related pay
Pros
Good benefits. Pleasant co-workers. Nice culture. Great impressive list of clients to work with
Cons
Lack of communication at all levels is a massive let down. Small things that should not even be an issue are easily often dragged out. The company also keeps lagging behind technologically. After 5+ years of working there I still cannot see any valid reason why this is so. A real shame considering the capability of the people in the company.
Pros
Great local team with really nice people and camaraderie.
Cons
Mediocrity, as a sales rep its ok to make 50% of your #, and you don't get canned! Only 30% of the 2nd year sales reps stay around bc it not challenging, and the culture is definitely more telco (beauracacy) and its difficult to get things done.
