High turnover, and questionable unemployment. I know four people who were fired who were denied unemployment.
Middle managers arrogant.
Owner hired friends, friends of friends' wives, family members, and people he met in restaurants.
Definite lack of procedure. Hard to get supervisors to agree on proper course of action.
Cases that would normally be worth big bonuses given out as punishments. They were mandatory, but with no bonuses.
Inconsistent casework review process. Accuracy touted as incredibly important, but work sometimes went out with spelling errors throughout. Clients often returned work for corrections.
Higher pay given for fastest typists (but see above about accuracy).
Gay employees accepted on the surface but not behind closed mgmt doors.
Cumbersome time-keeping procedure.
Unethical practices with the analyses. They could be manipulated to make the outcome more or less favorable as needed.
Support and training not guaranteed. Sometimes you won't get training if they don't want the client and don't care if you mess up on the account.
Hostile work environment if you are offended by highly sexual jokes and conversations.
Could be really restrictive. We were once told we couldn't talk about outside topics while at work.
Work/life balance could be rough. I put in at least one 70 hour week and worked 6 days a week sometimes.
