Thank you for taking the time to write your review. Needless to say, no company is perfect but we do our best to learn and improve every day. We appreciate your feedback. Note from Joe (CEO): We are against micromanagement, and anyone who needs micromanagement in order to do well is not going to make it at SelfDecode long term. I assume the review is by someone who we felt wasn't very productive and required micromanagement to do well, and therefore was probably let go as a result. We did have a junior data engineer who fit this description, and we didn't think he was a good fit for our organization for that reason. The organization is very opposed to micromanagement and we expect people to be able to work somewhat autonomously.

Bad startup to work at

Pros

remote job with flexible working hours but you are required to work overtime and during the weekends.

Cons

Un-experienced team members and team leads (For eg. my team lead had no idea how docker works). Lot of politics by Team leads in the Ops teams. Ops Team Leads assigns lot of work on Friday and Saturday to put pressure on team members. Low salary for highly valuable skills. No communication skills and rash behaviour(bullying) shown by the Team Leads of Ops teams. No trust is shown by the team members, even though you get high quality work done on time.

Based on the feedback we've been receiving, the rest of the Ops team seems pretty happy, and this is the first time we are hearing anything negative in that regard. One member of the team did leave after a short stint, but no feedback was given. Nevertheless, we will investigate to see if there is an issue which needs to be addressed, as team morale in important at SelfDecode. We are actively looking for a team lead and hope to have that position filled shortly. We're sorry to hear you were not happy in your role but we thank you for your review. Update: We did a thorough review and interviewed the ops team, and none of the ops team agree with anything presented here and they think it’s a fake review. Particularly, the team unanimously disagreed about: -Un-experienced team members -That the team lead is not experienced with how docker works -That there are a lot of politics by Team Leads -That Ops Team Leads assign lot of work on Friday and Saturday and put pressure on team members -That there are no communication skills and bullying is shown by the Team Leads of Ops teams -That there’s no trust shown by the team members
