Pros

Up to 35% discount on own bought product, discount on concessions varies. Discount events throughout the year - an extra 20% on top of your 35% discount on select brands, works out to 48% (concession team receive 35% discount during these events) - the events used to be every 3 or so months but now has been reduced to once a year. SOME of the loveliest people I’ve ever met in my life, I’ve made some amazing friendships with my team, and people on concessions. Lots of volunteering opportunities for local charities, setting Christmas decorations up for the women’s and children’s hospital in Birmingham every year (most rewarding part of the job). 1% commission on OB product, can really add up over Christmas.

Cons

Lots of standing around doing nothing during quiet periods. Management aren’t really on the same page when it comes to their management styles and leading a team. Lack of career progression, if they feel they can’t walk all over you you have no chance of progressing. FAVOURITISM!!!! They give the “good” jobs to people they like, or put people on high sales areas and leave others on areas that don’t have high footfall. The team is always the first to be blamed for anything, low sales, low footfall, low conversion! Sometimes people don’t want to spend money, maybe they’re forgetting we’re in a cost of living crisis and not everyone has disposable income. If you step one foot out of line you’re straight in a meeting. SOME team members take things too personally, we are selling clothes, not performing open heart surgery.
