Pros

I loved loved working at Shoppertrak. Good leadership team, Steady growth, nice and friendly culture (thanks to Admin/HR teams), Competitive salary / benefits, wonderful awesome people across teams - talented, hard working, trustworthy, committed. I loved learning new-newer-newest technologies with the team while slowly but steadily retiring old stuff and moving towards maximizing results.

Cons

The tiny thing that I was just not a fan of was over-committed workloads, late / insufficient feedbacks, micro-management, and the constant burnout that my team had to deal with in spite of us 'using' Agile methodology. Some of the 'wonderful awesome' people (my team) were never given a chance to become the masterful autonomous body with a purpose that 'being Agile' so profoundly strives for.

Changing Culture

Pros

Most of the people in the company are nice and helpful.. Benefits and compensation are competitive. Work-life balance is all right in most areas.

Cons

The culture of the company has changed as it strives to become more of a "tech" company. Work can be stressful depending on the area and expectations relative to the position. There is high turnover in some departments. Last year management set some some unrealistic goals which were not met. So, bonuses were not paid out.

Pros

Vacation time allotment. Up to this point they have been very flexible at working remote, but that’s going to change.

Cons

Women in leadership roles are almost nonexistent. The women that are in those roles don’t have any pull. The culture of “work more with less people” is on a cycle and has a natural ebb and flow. But it makes everyone feel under appreciated because we’re constantly told how we aren’t doing enough.

Pros

Competitive pay, benefits , a lot of projects that will keep you busy

Cons

- No work/life balance. - Unrealistic expectations..The managers expect you to answer emails on weekends even for things that could wait until Monday - Poor management practice..they wait until review time to tell you things you are doing wrong..how are people supposed to know they are doing something wrong when managers wait several months after the fact to inform employees the things are doing wrong? - If an issue comes up at the last minute of the day right before you go home, you are expected to put off your dinner and stay at the office and work on the issue until it is resolved..regardless of the fact that doing it remotely is just as or more effective and the fix can't be implemented on production until at least the next day anyway..totally over the top ridiculous! - Requires being on call..depending on the position, they may be short staffed and you may at times have to do this a lot especially if the company loses some employees due to people quitting or a layoff. You can expect to be woken up at 3am in some departments. - They expect you to go the extra mile and put in a lot of work but when it comes to the time when bonuses should be paid, NO ONE GOT PAID A BONUS! - There's a lot of competition from big players in the market and their sales have been consistently slow. Be careful about working for this company..you don't want to be somewhere where there is a higher chance of being laid off or even worse termination. - Slow to adopt best practices and cutting edge methodologies. - They believe that your job is not your passion if you don't conform to their expectations of volunteering to work unpaid overtime without being asked to. This has nothing to do with passion, it's a brain washing technique to scare you into thinking your job is in jeopardy if you don't conform to their crazy work culture and that it's not any different anywhere else which is not true.
