Pros

fun trends and gadgets to work with

Cons

no work-life balance no full-time hours no HR to help Tony, the Manager at Bayshore is unprofessional, biased, racist,(mocks the language, culture, and people), sexist (only hires females)shows favoritism (gotta keep him happy by doing overtime, leaving your life, and going to work whenever he needs you or you'll be yelled at, keep appreciating him for the efforts he pretends to make but in reality, its the team working hard), is very moody, and rude to the customers and his employees, is only nice to you if you butter him up creating a toxic and mentally challenging environment no growth opportunities can only do closing shifts since morning shifts are only for managers gets super busy, unorganized, and very messy during Christmas, Black Friday, and boxing day you get paid according to what your shift timings are and not for the time you actually clocked in and out. Eg- if the shift is from 9-5, it takes half an hour to close and 15 mins to open but forget those extra 45 mins. You won't be paid for it and would be expected to come early.

Pros

You are exposed to new and trendy products, albeit their steep prices. Nonetheless, the products are good.

Cons

Out of the many, many places I had worked, this has to be one the most dehumanizing places to date. I stayed only because I adored my manager; however, the head office was beyond corrupt and incredibly cliquey. My district manager constantly lied about doing store visits and would watch us on the camera (which is legally wrong as there was no suspicion of theft). She was beyond unhelpful and the only reason she was promoted was due to her personal friendship with higher-ranking officials. There is no room for growth because as mentioned, everyone at the head office has been working with Showcase for years and the inner circle was promoted. Their favourite way to save money was to cut back on hours making it difficult to have overlap with other employees, meaning only one employee was on a shift to do cash, merchandising, inventory and the many, unnecessary display changes. The manager had to create schedules that were both legal and adhered to labour laws while sticking with minimal hours. This job and these employers are not worth the barely any money you are going to make.
