Toxic Management

Pros

A lot of good people who care about the company, good pay

Cons

Horrible senior management style...CEO and CFO hold all the power and treat everyone else including other VP- and C-level execs like minions. It's their way or the highway. They create a toxic work environment by berating people in front of co-workers and making them feel inferior rather than having thoughtful conversations about performance and growth. And, HR manages to their expectations rather than stopping this unprofessional behavior in order to survive the toxic environment. Worst experience of my career.

Pros

_free drinks, biweekly meals -really great people

Cons

- lack of any real innovation - aging, stalled products - inability of senior management to make decisions and proceed in a direction without going back reversing course - no yearly review process or wage increases, not even cost of living. And with no further incentives (bonuses, rrsps, stocks etc) you’re pretty much stuck at the income level you start at

I’m sorry that your current experience working at Signiant doesn’t appear to align with the awesome experience we intend to provide for the hard-working talented people on our team. As you stated, we have great people, and as a small, agile and growing private Software as a Service company, Signiant’s objective is to continue to attract and retain the best and brightest software developers in the industry. To retain talented people, we pay market competitive salaries and offer stock option grants consistent with work being performed. We empower our people to push boundaries and we review and reward our people’s accomplishments continuously rather than using a dated annual review process. People that demonstrate initiative and push boundaries are also rewarded with interesting work on new products and technologies, although this is somewhat circular in that these people are also key to setting the course for new products, technologies and ultimately the growth of the company. The contributions of our people have not only resulted in a marquee customer list, but also in an Emmy award and ten patents including four patents issued in the past year for cloud technology innovations. I’d encourage you to express your concerns directly with myself or your manager and to have an open discussion on Signiant’s fit with your career ambitions. Ian Hamilton, Signiant CTO

Pros

There are no pros at all

Cons

I worked within the FP&A team. I have never been made to feel more stupid in my life by the environment this role was in. I care about the work I do and care to do the right things but questions were not welcomed. No diversity at all throughout the Lexington office. Overheard a group of employees mentioning that a new employee that hadn’t started was Asian.
