    Approves of CEO

I worked at Smart Works full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great team of fun engineers. You may work alongside the owner who is a great guy and leader.

    Cons

You may be asked to quickly come up to speed on technologies you 're not familiar with or dislike. Fast passed startup, although some people like that.

    Pros

A great organisation to commit time to. To be part of such a positive community is rewarding in so many ways.

    Cons

Downsides are beyond the control of the team or the clients.

    I worked at Smart Works

    Pros

Projects allowed a lot of self-directed work. Many hats to wear, rote tasks were few.

    Cons

Management seemingly has ADD. Adamant micromanagment of projects for which the the details are not understood. Then a change in that micromanagement to another extreme. Inability to delegate. Extremely indecisive. Little to no market research. Little to no customer respect. Little to no risk management. Acknowledges opinions of others, then forgets within the hour and implements something else entirely. Company has little to no money as a result. No information and constant changing of direction (or no direction) means failure comes very slowly, which is probably just as expensive as ramping up quickly and failing quickly. Company was supposed to be flipped, not run and managed as a real business. Unfortunately, you need real customers, and they expect to be dealing with a real business.
