I worked at Sol Food Restaurant (More than a year)

    Pros

Good work environment with young and lively coworkers. Employees are determined everyday to work hard and really come together to work as a team.

    Cons

Hours can get very long at times. Having to stay overtime when one already has a plan in mind can be very demoralizing.

    Pros

Provides an opportunity to start and keep working.

    Cons

    Not much of experienced staff.

    Advice to Management

Need to sort things and pay people based on hardwork, dedications & outcomes

I worked at Sol Food Restaurant full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great coworkers, upper management was caring and listened when something wasn't right, ideas from employees were often given a shot if they were viable, promoting from within was done fairly often, in my location, hard work was recognized, many positions are tipped

    Cons

micromanaging from owner level, high turn over, crummy benefits, no paid vacation, doesn't pay well enough for how insanely busy they get, HR is very disorganized (but this appears to be getting better with new HR hires)

    Advice to Management

Try to retain your employees, pay wages that people that aren't teenagers will work for. This is too intense of a job to be a good "first job". Teenagers are often not responsible enough to show up on time, or show at all, please encourage experienced workers to apply! Our healthcare was so low caliber it was cheaper to see a doctor privately in some cases WITHOUT insurance. Give your employees more than the 'bare bones' requirements of the government. They deserve to be taken care of! Your company is insanely successful, show how much you appreciate the folks on the front lines that keep it that way. Your employees would often confide in me how they felt like you didn't care. It was very sad.

    Pros

Create environment, never a dull moment.

    Cons

The owners are the only true "managers". They are extraordinarily bad at dealing with employees and are unable to hold any actual management staff more than a few months. They are extremely irresponsible and almost childish in actions and in attitude. Nothing positive besides the setting and a steady paycheck.

    Pros

    There is no redeeming quality.
