      Pros

      Steady work, population is terrific

      Cons

PTO looks meh...ok...until you find out your holidays come out of it, and that you get your chops busted if you need to use it....is it really earned if I don't have a choice to take those days off.., random changes to holidays covered, take the side of funding source even when they are wrong, acting unethically or expect you to, ....change job requirements to make friends or political allies qualified (drop clinical licensure requirements for example) My manager has less than no interest in me or my peers even superficially.... Lip service to DEI and no bias awareness training for managers or hiring managers in particular

      nice place to work

18 Mar 2022 - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Worcester, MA

      Business Outlook

      Pros

hours are great, get out by 1:30pm-2:00pm and have rest of day for yourself; work with other caring nurses; learn first hand on mental health and addiction; mileage reimbursement, great benefits, bonus on last minute fill ins; supervisors available at all times; supervisors knowledgeable and caring of patients; responsible for only 1-2 medications a day; building a rapport with patients and seeing their recovery is really encouraging; communication in nursing department is great, always letting nurses know what's going on weekly or monthly nurses meeting

      Cons

can become monotonous; getting up very early if site is far away; getting pulled from site to work at another site last minute, sometimes an hour + away; can become a toxic environment between nurses depending on who's the director and supervisors; some nurses don't care about the population as much as others and let others do more work; supervisors can play favorites at times; no room to grow unless you move up to a supervising position, pay is fair $27.50 (LPN)-$30 (RN) for outpatient setting, high revolving door for nurses and clinicians because of this.
