Good company ruined by poor leadership

The way leadership handled redundancies was awful at best. 70% of staff laid off with no notice or consultation, Pay was guaranteed for the month from the SLT, then laid off anyway with no notice period. The company knew it was out of money at the start of the month, but allowed us to continue working knowing we would have to claim lost wages via the insolvency service. Many promises were made in the lead up to this that were not delivered (Funding is secure, merger/acquisition is secure).

When I worked there, it was a great environment - friendly teams, overall good morale, and it seemed like we were progressing well.

Cons

Without any warning whatsoever, we were made redundant following the CEO's inability to find proper funding or a buyer for the company. This was managed incredibly poorly, with no notice period or consultation. Incredibly disappointing and left over 70 people in an awful place. Honestly pretty cold and borderline illegal.
