Free m&ms. Yum. Hold on, let me think.... Uh. That's about it.
Cons
This place is a huge soul-suck fest. Minimal guidance from management, no recognition from any of the "upper leaders" for the hard work you do, constant badgering and demeaning of its employees. This place literally breaks their employees down until they're nothing and rebuilds them into timid, incompetent servants who will lack the necessary confidence to dig themselves out of the graves they've put you in. (Trust me--I have seen this with more than 2 people trying to get out of there). Luckily, some are able to escape just in time before every ounce of their enthusiasm and composure is destroyed. Do yourself a favor: Regardless of how desperate you are for a job, turn yourself around and walk away from this place. Nothing good will come out of it. Wait for another company to recognize your talents because it won't be long before it happens.

Pros
I've had the privilege of working for the biggest player in the spine industry and now I'm working for one of the smaller ones, SpineFrontier and I've been here for 4 years. While my former training was invaluable, the experience I've had working for a smaller organization can't be beat. It's not often when you're able to personally connect via text or direct call to your CEO, who happens to be a practicing orthopedic surgeon. I've been involved in every aspect of our business from managing people, to selling, from supply chain to our marketing and training programs and those are experiences and opportunities that you won't find elsewhere. SpineFrontier is an organization where you create your own path and drive your own results- from start to finish. Not everyone performs well in these circumstances as there is a great deal of autonomy. Hard work and consistency are valued within the organization.
Cons
We've modified the way we seek talent and are working to hire more experience in the roles that we are looking to fill whereas previously we've hired talent fresh out of school which has meant greater learning curves. Our training program needs help and we're working to make that a priority, interviewing experienced sales trainers to help us build a successful training program for new hires.

Pros
I'm seeing a lot of negative feedback about SpineFrontier and although I've been working here for only a short time, I'm already seeing positive results within the company. Management is understanding, helpful and approachable. Everyone working within is innovative and driven to assist the company with succeeding. Overall, the company culture is the "laid-back-hard-working" type. Everyone has fun but gets the job done. More recently, the company is growing rapidly and has made a conscious effort to bring in the right employees. We all work collaboratively towards a goal and take pride in the jobs that we do. Bottom line is, if you're the type of person who likes to suggest ideas, is willing to put in the extra work and wants to be a part of something BIG, this is the company for you.
Cons
Still operate in a "start up company" mentality but are growing out of it and creating more policies and procedures each day. If you don't' have an issue with this and want to help in the process, then it isn't a deterring factor.

Pros
There are some very intelligent people working here and they are passionate about the business. Many spend long hours and generally feel that they are helping people. I wish there were other positives that I could highlight in this section but that would be simply putting lipstick on a pig.
Cons
Where to begin. Many employees are forced to work long hours and weekends without the benefit of being well compensated. They focus on recruiting younger employees mainly because they feel they can get away with that with inexperienced people. They treat each employee like a commodity and do not value independent thinking. The main issue is leadership from the top. Plain and simple. The company is run by a CEO who believes he is simply better than everyone else. This includes the customers - surgeons. He changes his mind daily and forces the company to attempt to anticipate what he wishes to do next. He is ruining this company but does not care as he will simply move on. The current "President" of the company is a complete follower of the CEO and does not possess one ounce of leadership ability. I don't think I would follow him out of a burning building.

Fast-Paced, Innovation-Forward

SpineFrontier is a small, agile company, and employees get to have their hands on a lot of different projects and contribute to the company's success in a lot of different ways. One week you might be supporting a surgeon in the O.R. and gathering user inputs, the next you might be brainstorming a totally new product concept, building/testing a prototype, creating an animation for a new product launch, or helping out with some of the more sustaining work. It's an exciting place to work, learn and grow. Good benefits, flexible hours, and unlimited PTO policy make it easier to balance work and life. Fun, work-hard-play-hard company culture. We have weekly Happy Hour and regular off-site gatherings, play lots of Foosball, go mountain biking at the Fells nearby on lunch, etc. People have a lot of ownership and passion about their work; self-motivation and accountability are key to thriving here.
Cons
The flip-side of being a small, agile company with employees wearing many hats and sharing limited resources, is that sometimes priorities and targets are not clearly managed, resources are spread thin, and there is always the possibility for new, "drop everything" projects to come along and disrupt your workflow. When this happens the development cycle gets rushed and teamwork can break down.

Pros
SpineFrontier pays the minimum salary to their employees that is for that position. Salary compensation for upper management is always on the increase and so is their job potential within the company.
Cons
The company does not offer bonuses, salary increases, and occasionally honors the salary compensation adjustment that is noted in their employee contract agreement with employees. Sadly the salary compensation between sexes is MUCH lower for women compared to the males that hold the same position with similar experiences and years work experience. If you want to work here do it at your own risk knowing you will not get a salary increase even if your bi-yearly performance reviews are excellent.

Flexible space and opportunities
22 Jun 2017 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
There is freedom to learn almost anything that pertains to your position and much beyond that. Expect exposure to surgeons, manufacturing professionals, sales reps, and many more. Use the 3D printer to realize your designs. Test parts in the cadaver lab. Newly built, open office can be fun and a little chaotic. The employees! There are many interesting, fun, and smart individuals who know how to strategize, and work quickly within industry constraints.
Cons
The "need" to move quickly can be misguided. Sometimes causing duplication of efforts. Very limited checks and balances at the top. Project decisions seem to be made with limited discussion, and minimal input from critical users. Yet there is always an opportunity to air your concerns, and speak directly to top level management.
