I wanted to leave my time at SprintFwd in the past and not think about it again, but I write this review as friends who overheard my work calls recommended I share my experience so that others make an informed choice about working for Sprintfwd.
To preface my review, I’ve had people who've overheard my work calls, pull me aside, and say something along the lines of: “That is the most toxic work call I have heard."
I did not have a good experience working at SprintFwd. I expected a high-stress environment as is in most tech companies, but what I wasn’t prepared for was just how toxic the work environment was.
This is not a team-based environment. You are on your own. Fully remote, camera-off except for during a weekly company call. The lack of an operations team and set processes/training is a detriment.
During my time, we reported directly to one very temperamental client. If something was not to his liking, the client would spend long durations of calls belittling the SprintFwd and other vendor teams. His outbursts would leave me in shock, that an adult, who has been in the industry for years would act in an unprofessional way. If he had a bad day, he would take it out on people reporting to him.
If you are desperate for employment, or looking to have a certain title on your resume, sure, work for Sprintfwd. But you will most likely be looking for other jobs at the same time, much like other employees of the company.
If SprintFwd diversified their portfolio and brought on other clients (rather than just the one) as well as hired an actual COO to organize the company, I see how they could potentially succeed in making it a more healthy environment. But from what I’ve experienced, this is not a company that listens to its employees. Comments about work-life balance or expressing concern about the treatment of employees are taken as a personal attack and responded to defensively.
The ROWE (results only work environment) was beneficial at some times, but it benefits the company more than the employees. It was an easy way for the company to require you to work late hours and an insurance policy for themselves in case they needed an excuse to let someone go.
For me personally, I would rather struggle in unemployment than work for a company like this again. I hope that this statement exemplifies what it was like working for Sprintfwd.
