Pros

Learn case management Learn time management Great customer service

Cons

High Stress If you meet a manager that doesn't fit with you, you are left on your own to learn things. If your manager takes a lot of time off, you will struggle in the remote enviroment to learn every aspect of adjusting

Pros

Benefit options Office or work from home Supportive managers Team connections Flexible work schedules

Cons

Way too many file transfers Does anyone think 160 cases is too much? The work day is intense and can be hard to keep up. Very difficult to find work related information to help you get your job done.

Pros

Full time telework, no other pros

Cons

Workload is depressing, too many claims and emails for one person to reasonably handle and provide the quality and timeliness that’s expected (the amount of emails received/addressed per day is a full workload by itself), extremely high turnover in claims- many don’t last a year, managers consistently ignore concerns of adjusters and do little to address the real issues, forced to clock in/out using Skype (now Teams) and micromanaged, disconnect between managers and adjusters, agency does not follow their own vision when it comes to lower level staff, ability to work from home but no true work life balance, have to work unpaid overtime just to keep up, told to reach out to other burned out adjusters for help with workload, managers threaten write ups and adverse actions when you can’t keep up with the unrealistic demands, CEO and upper management seem to be aware of the issues but no change in sight. The irony of working for workers comp when MANY could easily qualify for stress leave.

Pros

Work from home. Interesting job. Lots of customer service. All state and federal holidays off. Stood by employees through the firestorms we went through in 2017 - 2019 and even helped with time off if you were evacuated from your home.

Cons

Over worked and underpaid. They aren't great at retaining employee so you're constantly overburden with extra work. Most of the Assistant Claims Managers are poor supervisors.

Pros

Helpful managers. I’ve had supportive managers that do make it a point to look for ways to help and guide me State Fund still get to Telecommute unlike other state agencies that are hybrids

Cons

Sadly, there is just way too much work to be done as an adjuster. We only get paid once a month.
