People are nice, but business is hard to hack with markets where they are
Pros
+ People are nice, everyone is genuinely trying to do their best + People are competent, everyone is aware how to do what they want to do + Decent pay, in line with the market
Cons
- Markets are down, so whatever product eng design do, there are outflows, but the expectation is for product eng and design to reverse this, which is not realistic - Too many decision makers, it is not clear who gets to take the call, the execs are jumping into too many small things instead of trusting the teams they've hired - Too many large company processes (e.g. twice a year perf) for a small company, its not needed - Feels way too political for a startup this size, why is everyone acting like its a big bank - There are a few people who only criticise, and do nothing of their own - No longer seems remote-friendly, is confused about the value of being in-office since the Singapore office is just a place to shout over each other in calls with eng & design who are predominantly in India. Gurgaon office is a WeWork glass cage
