Pros

50% off discount, work life balance, created good friendships with part time staff

Cons

Talize does not appreciate nor trust good hard working people. They use their operations employees to their advantage with getting them to work more hours and not giving them the proper wage or benefits as they would for full-time production staff. Talize Whitby management treats their staff unfairly. Not a good team environment at all, very closed doors with manager. Managers sit in the back office and talk all day while other workers run around with little help. Not to mention they talk behind staff members disrespectfully. Just watches the camera all day to see what you're up to. Very little pay with not a stable job. Talize will fire anyone with no absolute reason.... not a trusting company to work for. Manager is also very picky about announcements or pages. No appreciation at all when you work at this location. Negative manager. *** it's not the company people leave, it's their managers. ** Talize is not the place to work if you want a good work environment.

Pros

50% discount off donated merchandise only

Cons

1) Poor pay, few incentives, no recognition. Poor working conditions (no AC - turned off regularly, dusty, very hot and gets stinky). 2) Everyone works against each other rather than with each other. 3) Managers have clear favourites, not based on performance. Laziness seems to be the norm and is clearly accepted. 4) No business standards, overpacked racks and shelves that severely impact potential sales. Employees given no direction when given tasks and are expected to finish it flawlessly. 5) Hours of part time workers capped at 20 in order to avoid benefits payout. Do not expect more than 3 shifts a week - but expect to be called every day to work Production for less $$. 6) Two separate "teams" that do not work cohesively and are paid different wages and benefits despite similar responsibilities and expectations. 7) Management leaves store by 4:30pm every day and do not come in on weekends resulting in a lack of accountability throughout the store. 8) Management more worried about petty theft and illegal dumping in the dumpster than employee morale. Numbers always come first at Talize. 9) Only certain people can do certain tasks, minimal crosstraining, if manager doesn't like how you do something one time you will never be allowed to do it again. 10) 6000 items a day or bust without any regard for cleanliness, efficiency, shopability, or common sense.
