The people you will meet doing this job are really smart, committed, and savvy people - volunteers, NGO staff and program manager team members are all committed to making a positive difference. Lots of travel to interesting places.
Cons
Leadership could benefit from developing their listening skills. The organization of decision making and workflow is unnecessarily chaotic. Leadership tends to impose solutions on staff and external partners without regard for effects or impact. CEO is impatient and easily frustrated. Don't expect meaningful praise or consistent support to be a regular part of your employment experience.
