Pros

The program staff was amazing - knowledgeable, committed to advancing equity for low income girls of color, passionate. The regional director's were also incredibly intelligent, hard working, and committed.

Cons

Leadership values didn't align with the work being done in regions. Program staff was repeatedly stressed about not having enough time to fulfill new grants that came in, regional creativity on fundraising was squashed, and there was pressure to have more girls attend programs however program staff working in 4-5 schools and didn't have time to build deeper relationships at schools. On top of this, the pay gap between program staff working directly with girls/partners and leadership was vast. Program staff was extremely underpaid for the work and value they did. This caused unease, distrust, and difficult with leadership. Leadership seemed unwilling to listen or pivot. This felt rooted in ego and trying to gain notoriety vs. doing community-based work.

A Horrible Work Environment

Pros

Outside of management, there are wonderful people at this organization who are genuine, care about the youth they serve and support each other.

Cons

Absolutely soul crushing. The majority of staff joined TBG with the intentions of supporting a great cause and uplifting youth. Within months, most of them left due to the ego and immoral actions of the CEO and other management. To put it plainly, the CEO hurts people. So many people would burn out and even had health problems because of the unrealistic expectations she put on everyone. Someone quit at least once a month and management prefers to spend thousands on recruitment firms and consultants instead of changing the way they run the organization. There is only one Techbridge Girl that is being uplifted and that is the CEO.

Pros

Fridays are work from home unless your boss decides to change that only little o'l you. Staff is really cool, funny, animal lovers, and hardworking...but they all have side jobs due to being payed so low here.

Cons

Imagine telling the CEO that she and the leadership team are royalty and everyone else at work is treated like the help. The staff is expected to do back breaking labor that literally was strenuous and mandatory work, but not for the leadership team. Definitely too many chiefs and not enough Indians. Also, imagine your boss rejecting your idea to treat such hard workers to lunch or a light breakfast. Imagine begging your boss for a going away lunch for a staff person who busted her buns for three years and the request was denied, yet someone on the leadership team gets a parade. Imagine your boss finally saying YES to taking the staffer to lunch but only if more back-breaking labor is completed. Imagine desiring to work from home on July 3rd to avoid three hours of Holiday traffic, and your boss requesting a reason, as well as demanding you to come to work. Imagine it takes four hours to get 45 miles because of the holiday. Someone sounds a bit selfish! Don't buy into the Kum-ba-ya hype! This company has Zero culture and reminds me of the White House under the Trump Administration. ️ This review is only for the Executive Assistant (EA) position to the CEO. Everyone else in the organization is completely awesome and loveable. If you're a darker-skinned minority gal who plans to interview for the EA position, make sure you are proper, never casual, never funny, never giggling, and always stone-faced with zero emotions. I had the wrong skin color and personality for this position.
