Pros
Good stepping stone. Great to learn about retail management however work profiles stagnate after the first year
Cons
Management's expectations from staff has changed over the years. Rather than recruiting experts in the field, they are OK with recruiting people fresh out of college at a lower pay. The flipside is such guys need a lot of training. Biggest drawback is centralized authority. Everything is top down and that creates problems when there is hardly any delegation of authority. Another bad idea is about excessive questioning at the expense of the customers. Without a proper MIS structure, sales team are not empowered to make on-the-spot decisions
