Pros

Meeting needs of children on the spectrum and tailoring to their abilities for learning opportunities. Support and help for curriculum. Paid breaks and school year calendar.

Cons

Pay isn’t equivalent for the responsibilities of teachers in the classroom. There are students with higher needs that need to be placed in different facilities due to the inabilities to fully and adequately help these students. Staff shortage in all places of the facility which makes the lead teaching position very hard.

The students don’t outweigh the cons!

Pros

- Coworkers (trauma bonding) - The students

Cons

- The absolutely worst management in the Johnstown location, I have EVER experienced. They are so unorganized, disrespectful, and subversive in addressing issues. Save yourself some time, effort, and sanity and work at literally any other school EVER. (If you do choose to work at TLS, please I beg of you to work at Central or Canal). - HR is SO unhelpful in resolving issues, and unprofessional in their methods. - The higher ups also TRULY do not care about their staffing either.
