Pros

Interesting range of clients and good progression / development

Cons

The stress is intense and burnout is frequent High staff turnover (8 people left from the PR team alone in 2025) Poor management and top heavy demands Forced to turnover high quality work in an unsustainable amount of time and also not being recognised for it by PR board director/ senior director level Too much emphasis on timesheets and overservicing so takes away from your actual role of client service and delivery Management styles can feel over the top, and concerns around workload capacity are not addressed, despite being raised with senior management frequently

Toxic PR leadership

Pros

Client mix can be interesting

Cons

The PR team has a very toxic culture driven by intimidating and erratic leadership. I’ve never seen staff turnover in a team so high, which speaks volumes about the environment caused by poor leadership and burnout. Employees are expected to deliver high-quality work at an unrealistic pace while juggling excessive admin set by the PR leadership, and over servicing demands that take time away from actual client delivery. The pressure placed on staff is completely unsustainable long term, and as a result, both employee wellbeing and client services suffer. Concerns around workload or capacity are repeatedly ignored, and hard work and extra effort go largely unrecognised, while criticism and blame are common. Instead of creating a positive and collaborative environment, the PR leadership has created a culture of fear and negativity. Overall, this was one of the most stressful and poorly managed working environments I have experienced. Anyone considering joining the PR team should think carefully before doing so.
