Pros

My very first real job experience, it feels like you are given space to try, fail and improve. The environment is informal and fun. Colleagues are from many different countries and generally in their late twenties. The daily activities and long term goals help improve society. Access to high-level European Institutions and Organisations, gives an insight of how EU policy works. Managers are ok with mistakes, which I appreciate.

Cons

Challenging to work together with people from all over the world, in offices overseas and managing global activities in more than one language. Different projects have very different expectations and scale, can be hard to juggle. Young people are given a very high level of responsibility and trust almost immediately, I would advise it if you are already a structured and proactive person. The management style is quite flat, not much hierarchy.

Pros

Young and international team. New/ junior staff are friendly. Standard working hours is 9:30 - 18:30. But you can leave as you finish work. Mainly 3 layers of hierarchy: Directors, managers, and assistants.

Cons

It's a young team so it also means the senior management does not have a very solid management skills and leadership skills. Decision making is very diffused and not consistent due to a number of decision-makers involved and the communication problems among themselves. This is one of the major reasons of the high turnover rate. The Italian seniors are not so nice when you work with/ for them. The welfare or interest of their junior staff didn't seem to be valued. Their use of workplace communication language was, unfortunately, lack of respect and politeness. Instead of being upfront of communicating what they really expect, they like to use rhetorical question to either challenge you or express their discontent, for example "Why did you do this?", "Why you didn't do this?", "Is this normal?" But partners are their keys to te projects so they try to never offend the partners. Limited promotion.
