Not the worst job

Pros

4 day work week at an average of 10-12hrs a day. If you are hard working and don't mess up the management usually leaves you alone

Cons

If you are close to 40 hours by your 4th shift of the week they will send you home so they don't have to pay overtime. Original job posting had 30 and 60 day evaluation with up to a dollar/hr raise on each. 30 day never happened and after about 20 calls got my 60 day, perfect delivery record and attendance and was only given .50¢ out of possible 2.00. No individual evaluation, everyone who was there got the same raise. Also they charged me $5.00 a week for a uniform that I never received in the first place, when I contact management to address the situation they told me there was nothing I can do about it that's just how it is. No real room for advancement. Benefits that meet bare minimum so they don't get penilized but do absolutely nothing to cover you.

Don't Do It

Pros

Lots of Hours. The truck managers are actually very nice people. They are probably too exhausted to be mean.

Cons

Lots of Hours. The company itself is very misleading. They had a posting listed saying they needed part time couriers to deliver light packages for two days a week, 4 hours per day. What they really meant to say is that they are looking for hard laborers who will be working directly from a truck in any and every type of weather: snow, rain, hail, thunder, lightening, below freezing temperatures, scorching heat, tornados etc., to pull a cart weighing 100 pounds or more at least two times a day, 2-3 hours at a time throughout new york city, unassisted by a partner or jack pallets or any other suitable heavy lifting equipment on behalf of amazon. They will charge you $25 for a cheap uniform and take a non refundable $5 out of your check each week. They will also say that you get breaks, but you usually don't take them because everyone wants to get everything done faster to go home. Its like being an individual package handler, but for minimum wage. You are better off going directly to a notable package handling company where you will make $14 or better.
