Great vision, but piss-poor execution.

Pros

Great vision, but piss-poor execution.

Cons

Tidemark had a lot of great talent but most have now moved on. Management focuses more on sales than bettering the product. They are more concerned with creating a strong sales pipeline to inflate valuation and unload the company. Even with the heavy focus on sales, we have not been able to hit targets. The product is archaic, the underlying database is open source and has roots from the 90s. The fact they attempt to sell the product as being able to handle BIG DATA is a joke. The UI is a cobbled together mess. The only reason we've made it this far is because customers are shielded from all the ugliness underneath. The whole company operates like they're running on a hamster wheel to make things "seemingly" work. Keyword: seemingly.

Pros

Many nice people at company

Cons

Catch management not telling truth on many things. Story change every time ask same question. Many of good employee "disappear" if ask management questions. One day here, next day gone. Product don't work, but management insist on making more demo feature. Not enough engineer so tell us to work harder, even stay up all night. Sales miss number all time, always blame product.

Toxic Culture

Pros

Some intelligent, motivated, good people are giving their all in a challenging environment. The vision and concepts of the platform are excellent but not fully realized and poorly executed on.

Cons

Location is terrible. The company has never made a revenue target in my time here. CEO is erratic, emotional and immature. He also lacks the ability to listen and blames everyone but himself for any issues. Another review suggested he's a con artist, this is pretty accurate, if his lips are moving you can bet the truth is nowhere to be found.

Thanks for taking the time to write this review and provide your feedback. I've worked so hard to create a company and culture where our core values of trust, transparency and customer success enables our team members to grow and be part of of this incredible journey as we seek to re-imagine what a modern FP&A solution can be. Specifically to some of your feedback, you are right about the excellent vision and amazing people that exists at Tidemark. As a technical founder I had to personally learn how to be a CEO that not only drives that vision but also builds, delegates and works with an amazing team to execute on it. I am making a great effort to personally listen and connect with everyone - trough our 1:1, bi-weekly all-hands, namely open posts, slack channels and not in the least our anonymous q&a - to seek feedback, to improve and maintain a caring environment as we grow. I genuinely care about this company, our awesome team and our customers. Maintaining our core values and culture as we grow is something that I worry about too. If I can help you please email me at cgheorghe@tidemark.com or stop by anytime. I value your input. Christian Gheorghe Founder and CEO
