Pros

Great benefits for all employees

Cons

Tideworks is very male dominated. Breaking down of old habits and barriers seems to be unobtainable. Very upsetting to find out the compensation packages were not equivalent to all.

Thanks for taking the time to provide the feedback. Tideworks is dominated by many talented and smart individuals that make up our team. There are many ladies in our organization that contribute in incredible ways and lead many efforts at Project and Organizational levels. Very sorry to hear that you feel your compensation package was not where you thought it should be. We try very hard to ensure competitive rates for all work categories to ensure everyone is compensated fairly. Tideworks is dedicated to creating and maintaining a comfortable work place for all our employees. It concerns me to hear some of your feedback as we do not condone any hostility in our offices. Personally, I have an open-door policy to encourage openness and transparency with all Tideworks employees and would encourage anyone experiencing such treatment to reach out if you feel the normal chain of command is not working. Together, we will find a solution to such issues to ensure everyone is guaranteed a positive working environment Once again, very sorry your experience at Tideworks was not positive. Thanks again for the feedback and if you would like to share more of your experience, I can be reached at thomas.rucker@tideworks.com. Best of luck in all your future endeavors.

Pros

Some of the better benefits you will find in the software industry. Personality-wise, there are some great employees here. They do try to provide perks such as lunch 2 times a month for all the employees. There seems to be an endless amount of work to do, which is great for stability. They do pay well, for the most part. Software is stable, so not a lot of overtime.

Cons

The other reviews on here are very much valid. From not being very female friendly, to the good old boys club, to almost never firing poor performers. There is also a divide between the IT arm of the company & the software arm. The 'president' of the company was put in place when the company first started because the owner of the parent company had no where else to put him. It is very much evident in his management style that there is no experience in running a software company. They have a hard time trusting employees with remote work; the company can't recruit, partially due to it's location; management isn't from a technical background, so policies don't always align with what you'd see at other software companies; no real advancement or training; and morale is constantly wavering based off all the previous cons.

It just keeps getting worse for women!

Pros

Some really great insurance and benefits, some good coworkers, assuming any of them come back after the latest flipflop from management regarding work from home.

Cons

Where to start? The all-male toxic leadership team? The lack of career paths for women and minorities? The fact that new vacancies are filled from outside rather than internal promotions? As other reviews have stated, this place is brutal if you're a woman. We had ONE woman on the executive leadership team, and she left thanks to the toxic environment. There are a few female directors and managers, but they seem to be leaving in droves. Leadership has committed to DEI classses for everyone, but that feels like a hollow promise that is a waste of money since they allow, look the other way, encourage aggressive and horrid behavior. There are so many other tech companies in Seattle, don't settle for this place women. you deserve better.
