Pros

Some really nice people in the CT, AMS and Cebu Offices

Cons

1. Many SVPs are incapable of performing at the mid management level. No clue how to create a business plan, seek feedback or define realistic goals 2. Liars in the leadership team - when you do not hire for an open position it is not categorized as a cost savings; telling people they will occasionally need to work long days then scheduling calls at 6 AM and 10 PM routinely is disgusting. Only HR and IT avoid 18 hour days routinely, IT because they have good leadership, HR well - who needs them? 3. It is better to be liked than right. God help you if you identify true issues and present solutions that your 'leader' cannot understand (hello Ops) 4. Behavior - I've witnessed senior leaders berate their employees and worse talk about their employees to peers "this is unacceptable, if I were them I would be afraid" what 'leader' talks like that? Set expectations, provide support and be professional 5. Benefits are expensive 6. You have Six Sigma designations? GREAT!! Will you ever use them? Nope

Pros

There used to be many pros but they keep taking them away one by one. Decent benefits. Hybrid working model (for now anyway).

Cons

They keep letting people go and piling the work on the employees that are left with no pay raises in the last 5 years (not even cost of living). Management is unsupportive. High turnover.

Pros

A couple of good people, summer fridays (when you can actually use them)

Cons

Honestly there are so many cons to working at this company. All of upper management has been there much too long for anything to happen, they preach about innovating and change but they are the roadblocks stopping it at every turn. They think they know best but these are the same people that have been keeping it stagnant for years. The pay is terrible. They justify this by saying they’re out of middlebury and not Hartford or Fairfield county so they don’t need to pay those types of salaries. Newsflash, your employees live in these areas and you didn’t even provide a cost of living wage increase for at least 3 years. Also, only senior managers and above are eligible for bonuses. HR is also a complete joke at this organization. There is maybe only one of them that truly cares about what you have to say and wants to hear you out but nothing ever gets done because her boss is too busy gossiping or trying to be fake bffs with everyone. It is by far the most unprofessional work environment I have ever been in. They allow inappropriate actions continue to happen because they don’t have the balls to take action. There is absolutely no feeling of support coming from this company, you pretty much feel ok your own. The benefits are also not good. Insurance is extremely poor unless you opt for the highest plan and then its about average. Summer fridays are nice but some managers will still schedule meetings during those hours or make it seem like you need to ask permission to use them when its a company wide initiative. Its almost like RAs in college where they think serving stale popcorn and throwing on a crappy movie from the 80s will make up for your poor salary, lack of room for growth, and inability to provide adequate resources for you to perform your job (they did actually do this activity). It is truly an overall toxic environment at this company. People are promoted when all they do is online shop, talk about not doing their work, and have no idea what is going on with the business all because they’re bffs with someone in the higher ups. You are not rewarded for your work at Timex, others are and in turn you just receive more of the workload they decide they don’t want to do. This company takes advantage of every (actual) capable employee but only rewards the ones that bring nothing to the table.
