Pros

During the period I worked there, I didn't find any Pros.

Cons

Lots of empty promises. Work after hours and weekends. Clean the office and shovel snow during the winter time. No sense of appreciation for hard work. Lots and lots of micro management. No technical support from Japan. Basically you have to do everything for everybody without any appreciation or recognition.

I am sorry to hear that you did not find any positive aspects while working at Toho. Our Chicago office is a smaller operation, and because of that, we sometimes have to pitch in and contribute in other areas of the company outside of our specific job. Helping in other areas of the company can help create better unity and teamwork and with our expanding operation, we all take pride in making our company a safe, clean and healthy place to grow and thrive as professionals. From the newest team member to our CEO, we all do what it takes to take our company to the next level. I apologize that you did not get the support you felt you needed to perform your job during your time at Toho. Toho appreciates the efforts of all its’ employees and the work they do.

Pros

Physical office space is nice.

Cons

Don’t work here. During interview process you’ll think, “oh it’s not that bad” “I can make this work” it’s a small growing company, that’s exciting” It’s not worth it. The pay is low, benefits are not enough. President and CFO unprofessional and unqualified. Company culture really terrible. The positive Glassdoor reviews on here are fake, written by the President.

Thank you for your feedback regarding the time you worked at Toho. We are a small growing company with many opportunities. I do want to correct some of the comments you made regarding our benefits. We are happy to offer benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(K) with company contribution, and paid sick and vacation days. We also have paid time off for standard US holidays and Toho exclusive holidays. Compensation packages are competitive and include bonus and incentive consideration. Here at Toho, our core values are, Tenacity, Integrity, Professionalism, and Passion. All employees, including executive management, strive to live out these values every day. When we fall short, we are free to call each other out in a professional way and we admit when we fall short and seek to help the team do better. I do appreciate your compliment of our office. We are fortunate to have a nice office with an open floor plan and an abundance of natural light.

Pros

The diverse and great group of people who work at Toho made the experience somewhat survivable.

Cons

This is by far the WORST place I have ever worked. Upper Management consistently puts pressure on their employees as opposed to working with them - a VERY BAD characteristic for a company. Upper management basically just tells the managers what to tell their subordinates, ranging from everything including dress appearance to forcing them to use “scare and stress” tactics. Upper Management constantly stresses how lucky the employees are to receive benefits the company offers...except the benefits are the ABSOLUTE MINIMUM! There is no 401k. During travel you are given $30 per day per diem, which is barely enough for business travel. There is no actual human resources department at Toho. If you want to experience what working for the most strict company ever is, LOOK NO FURTHER! You must be in EXACTLY on time. 1 or 2 minutes late and you are looked down upon by upper management. No freedom, no trust, no future. This company doesn't care!
