Pros

The base salary is solid... but then again, given all of the layoffs it’s hard to be confident in how long it will continue.

Cons

Management: from mid-level line management to c-level leadership is 100% atrocious with absolutely no redeeming qualities. Strategy: LOL, what strategy? They’ve acquired two organizations and now find themselves making layoffs in order to keep the lights on. People who are key players in the generation of new revenues (ie solutions engineering, sales) now find themselves on the street and those left behind are sharing a single SE... this company has set itself up to fall flat on its face and the worst part is mgmt and c-suite seem to be either oblivious to or in denial of their many blunders. They talk about how the “tables been set” and we just need to execute now to get to breakeven and ultimately cash flow positive, but everyone in the room is laughing to themselves about the prospect. Moreover we talk about being disruptive but the reality is there are hundred other companies that can do what we do and do it better.

Pros

Friendly HR: The HR team is genuinely supportive and approachable. They create a welcoming atmosphere for employees, making it easy to address any concerns. Fair Compensation: I found the pay at to be fair and reflective of the industry standards. Generous PTO and Volunteer Hours: Topia provides generous PTO, including volunteer hours. This demonstrates a commitment to employee well-being and community engagement.

Cons

Lack of Communication and Transparency: Unfortunately, my experience took a downturn when there was a lack of communication from my direct supervisor. Weekly one-on-one calls were avoided for a month, leading to uncertainty and, ultimately, my layoff. Issues with Senior Management: I observed a pattern of rudeness and condescension from senior management. This created a challenging environment, hindering positive collaboration across teams. Lack of Support in Conflicts: When conflicts arose with our teams, I felt unsupported by my direct supervisor. Having guidance and support during such times is crucial, and the absence of it added to the challenges. Concerns of Bias: It's disheartening to express that some of the challenges I faced felt to be influenced by race and sex. I believe there's room for improvement in fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace culture. Morale Downturn: Over the past year, I've observed a notable decrease in morale within the company. Employees seem to lack enthusiasm and confidence in the company's performance.
