Pros
A little training, encourage team building and they try... Taught some good sourcing techniques I use today.
Cons
If your a guy, the environment isn't as bad. It's definitely an old school "Don Drapper" mentality. The guys are invited to sporting games, happy hours and boat trips together. While the girls are left behind. It was an office at 10 people and one coworker would not even say hi to me because she thought they didn't need another recruiter at the company. My boss eventually made her say hi to me after I was there for two weeks. So it made the working environment very horrible. Secretive working environment Not collaborative at all. I asked the Lead Recruiter questions and he would not show me anything for fear that I would use his tactics to take his candidates. When I asked for guidance, my boss said "Figure it out". I told one of the co-owners that I was pregnant, he proceeded to tell the whole company. My coworker started asking me how much maternity leave I was going to take. My coworkers were saying no way you could have 3 months off. A really hostile working environment. I literally left most days crying. Worst working environment ever. I highly recommend not working at their company, for them or with them if at all possible.
