Pros

Salary, while working overseas. The pay you'll receive is hard to come by in the states.

Cons

*Company will fire you for any reason. I.E. An employee was fired for posting pictures on Facebook while he or she was in their room. There is nothing in the policy against posting picture while in the privacy of your room. * Another employee backed into object with ground guide and was fired because he reported the incident, (trying to do the right thing). *The continuous lies from management about not receiving pay reductions. Employees were told that the pay would not reduce but it did. The company used to pay it's employees 7 days a week but now it's down to 6 days a week. * Triple Canopy requires it's employees to pay Iraqi Country Tax, which is approximately 1100.00 per month. This tax is considered a Company Tax. A company which operates in Iraq is required to pay this tax but TC deducts the tax out of it's employees' check. Several other Security companies that operate in Iraq do not require their employees to pay this Corporation tax, SOC is just one example. * The company tells you, you'll be required to work 105 days but when you arrive back from leave or it's your first contract. They will extend you without notification. * While you are in training; the staff will tell you, "you will get your WPS I certificate when you get on your first contract". That is a lie. Corporate is / will refuse to give you your certification.

Pros

The training was good and 80 percent of the instructors were good besides the ones who had zero experience in what we were going to do. The instructors that did know most of them were complete jerks to everyone that didn't kiss their "feet" to be buddies. None of the potential wps students are screened so half completely suck at life and zero discipline. However there were a few instructors there that were absolutely professional atleast while training me didn't hold biases. You can tell the no bs instructors from the other ones cause they are just there to train the ones that want to joke and be your friend are the ones that will fire you when you don't laugh. Be prepared to laugh at jokes they have told 100 times be prepared to kiss but be prepared to be sent home for no fault of your own be prepared to be not paid be prepared to be let down. Honestly the people at this job were bad I've known alot of people and they weren't worst but these are the exact people you would think who would sign up for something like this. The people who can't look you in the eye when they talk or the guy who has never had a girlfriend and watches golden girls 3 hours a day , not even joking on that one, all the guys who have to get girls every night, all the special guys who need special attention everyday or they get crabby like 12 year old girls. They have to be able to raise their hand everyday so they can be reminded how special they are. Awesome training though absolutely without a doubt if you are there to train and not like the majority.

Cons

All of the instructors are cool guys who have done it all. They are no different than any other job they talk shh about each other the entire day and students the entire day while missing potential training opportunities. Every instructor can kick any student out for anything at anytime so if they just don't like you that day your gone. If your were special in your past life you get a free ride lol, this was amazing to me, you can get away with being untrainable lazy talk back not in uniform and still be fine. Many of the students are not good people they are the ones you do not want to be stuck with for years at a time. Rude not clean not professionals can't effectively communicate mostly uneducated treat others harshly but if you can deal with that I would go for it. Biggest con for me was the people. It is what you would expect the type of people to be in this type of job immature and lazy.

Shady place to work

Pros

Training was ok, they provided housing, chance to travel, easy interview (if you could call it that), had a good team to work with, got paid on time...

Cons

Pay wasn't great, they cut hours by adding more to the team and then refused to let us take extra hours if they were available, management was horrible and HR was unresponsive and almost dangerous to turn to as it would just fuel the fire and management would seek retribution. (Saw this happen to coworkers several times in less than a year) if you're willing to work without any kind of moral compass and you like to brown nose you'll be just fine
