Pros

During my time at Triumph, I learned a lot, was given a great deal of responsibility, and thrived in their competitive environment. What I believe sets them apart from other DSPs is Triumph’s focus on treating employees with care and emotional intelligence through work/life balance, culture and values, compensation and benefits, career opportunities, and the attitude of senior management. While delivering is no easy task, you can rest assured that management will be at your side every step of the way with encouragement, feedback, and understanding. While it may feel harsh at times, managers at Triumph truly want the best for your well-being, leaving you feeling confident and supported. Not only is senior management supportive, but the culture and inclusivity you experience are a direct result of what the company stands for. I felt this most during one-on-one conversations with leadership and, more importantly, the “Morning Huddle,” where the team prepares for the day and friendships are made. If you’re lucky, there might be donuts when you arrive — which will be burned off by noon. In addition to strong leadership, work/life balance and compensation are solid as well. During my time at Triumph, I found work/life balance to be very manageable, and if you make the right friends, hustle, and maintain a team-player mentality, you’ll get through your hardest days and then some. You may even have the opportunity to help a fellow DSP member finish their route after you CRUSH yours, which was always a good feeling (even when I didn’t want to… always say YES! Plus, who’s gonna carry the boats?!). This teamwork made a big difference when I needed time off, a teammate to pick up my shift, or help finishing my route early on. Generally, I expected full-time hours to be around 30 during non-seasonal periods, about 40 hours during blackout holidays, and there was usually an opportunity to pick up extra work if desired. Blackout holidays can be difficult to get time off for, but making friends and helping each other out makes the cold months worthwhile. Pay was good. Whatever the starting rate is (for example, $21–$22.50), you can expect the $21 per hour base, with $22.50 being achievable through a perfect delivery score — no missed packages or wrong-house deliveries. This is harder than you’d think, but absolutely achievable at Triumph (being highly ranked among ALL DSPs in the nation — wow!). Some final thoughts if you’re considering a Delivery Driver role at Triumph: • Training = easy money
 • During your first two weeks on route, keep notes throughout the day on things that could make your day easier or improve speed — it is so worth it • My cheap Amazon inventory included: a small backpack, lunch bag, freezer blocks, a gallon jug in the summer, DOG TREATS, Germ-X, a retractable keychain (must have a locking mechanism to allow slack while driving), a fanny pack for two phones, and an extra portable charger (they provide one daily, but technology isn’t perfect — stand out)
 • Ask managers for suggestions on your route during the morning meeting
 • Give it at least four months before deciding you’re a weenie — it takes time to get the hang of it
 • Ask colleagues for insider tips — they’re GOLD
 • If you want to stand out, bring cheap, clear plastic bags for packages when it’s raining
(build that positive cust. feedback, your leaders will see that!) • Get a raincoat and bring a towel on bad-weather days — you’ll thank me later
 • Attend at least one company hangout (theyre once a month, usually in the parking lot)
 • Great position for getting your foot in the door with Amazon
 • Tuition reimbursement is limited to a select few small, online universities • Last but not least, after you complete each bag of boxes, celebrate with a "woo-hoo!" or "easy peasy!" (compliment of my awesome ride along trainer)

Cons

This is a great gig or resume gap filler!

Pros

Good pay, you manage yourself pretty much.

Cons

Fast paced, less flexible on hours and days of week worked - you have to find your own replacement if time off is needed. First on job experience is stressful as there is no hands-on training. High turnover, people leave or let go weekly.
