Pros

1. Decent remuneration 2. HR folks are nice and professional

Cons

I have worked for a sufficient period to have a lengthy list of cons : 1. Extremely rude & unprofessional engineers. 2. Lack of adherence to structure and processes (and strangely, they take pride in it). 3. No conference rooms. This causes disturbance to people who are not part of meeting/discussions/calls. 4. There's open workplace - it resembles fish market at times - people speak loudly - in meetings and calls and get hyper (and yell and shout) during technical discussions. 5. There are no good listeners. Engineers work/respond based out of their assumptions about what you're saying and/or doing. 6. I'm not 100% sure about this but I think my TL has taken credit for my work. 7. Some senior engineering manager(s) live in their own productivity utopia where employees don't face technical issues, no network connectivity issues and have no personal life. 8. Some senior people are really delusional about what's actually happening in the team or who's working on what. 9. Performance review is done by people who have no idea about what you're doing/ what you've done so far. The term peer-review is taken too seriously and unrelated people are asked about the employee performance. 10. Helping OR asking for help is seriously frowned up. 11. Expected working hours are anything between 12-14-16 hours and no less. But this will not be said explicitly but expected from day 1. Similarly expected office time is 8-8:30am. Anything after 9:15am is strict no-no. Also everyone works on at least 3 weekends (both Saturday and Sunday) out of 4 in a month. On any given day(weekday/weekend), at least 50% of the members of the team work overnight (and are expected to be at work next day no later than 11AM). 12. Tea/coffee breaks (i.e. going to the cafeteria and having tea without laptop) are frowned upon. Unsurprisingly, smoking breaks are acceptable. 13. There's fake team spirit - that becomes apparent after spending some time with the team. 14. Most of the people are freshers and this is their first job. They're in serious delusion about how the world works and they think that they're the best thing since sliced bread. It gets reflected in how they speak to people of other teams or to non-technical people. 15. Sometimes people will stare into your workstation for no reason. And while going to or leaving from desk, sometimes people check all the workstations they come across until they reach door to check what others are doing. 16. There is a (hidden) expectation that one should do/finish promised work even if they are sick. (I am saying this from my personal experience).
