Pros

- There are some wonderful people who work here, a lot of time and effort has been made to craft a loyal team who cares about stock market photo disruption. - Free lunches. - Free beer, if you're into that sort of thing. - The office space is enjoyable. - The engineering team is pretty top-notch. (It may be worth nothing that I would only come on to the team as an engineer, and then I would try and negotiate a cash heavy salary. Don't take the stock--it's likely worthless.)

Cons

- The company has had multiple (three or four in the last two years) mass firings. This isn't par for the course when you're a startup--upper management doesn't learn from their mistakes and puts livelihoods on the line. - Company isn't anywhere near profitable. - Lack of financial transparency and lack of financial oversight.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'm learning from them even though it's been a couple years since you left. Sorry to hear I wasn't able to give you role you were hoping for. -Matt

Pros

We get free lunches, the atmosphere is pretty laid back. Most of the employees are very nice.

Cons

I was a photo editor for a month and then got laid off of when the company got what they wanted from me. The CEO is ruthless and not a very inspiring leader. I hear he laid off some of the smartest people at the company after I was laid off too. I dont even think he knew my name. This is not a place to start a career. The company will take advantage of you and let you go when its done with you. They also had everyone at the company write good Glassdoor reviews before we were laid off, so dont pay too much attention to the good reviews here. just look at the dates of the reviews.. Theyre all the same time.

I want to reply to your review even though I know it has been some time since then. In late 2014, we scaled our in-house photo editor team and quickly realized that we had done so prematurely. The unfortunate consequence of that was in laying off a number of people who had only been with the company a short period of time. That decision was a hard one for us to make, but we knew it had to be done for the business and the rest of the team. It was the right decision, although certainly did affect your and others' employment. I am sorry to hear that you felt taken advantage of in that process. We tried our best to be appreciative and communicative through the process, but may have fallen short for you on that. Once again, I'm sorry to have let you down. Thank you for sharing your experience. I do take this stuff to heart and will do everything that I can to make our company a place that is always improving for our team members.
