Pros

There are very few pros to taking a job at TwentyThree. But the people are generally very nice and supportive of each other. Plus, the product has a lot of potential (that can never be fulfilled).

Cons

1. The CEO is the most toxic person I have ever come across. Belittles everyone around him and bullies staff into wither doing what he wants or leaving the company. 2. No individual thinking allowed. You follow the CEO or you shut up. 3. No onboarding, no training, no development. Total chaos. 4. No HR or people team to take care of the staggering number of unfortunate incidents and confrontations in the office. 5. The product has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, the website is hopelessly dated, no one can explain the product very well, users can't use it without needing support all the time, and backend is a mess. 6. Wages are alright - or would be, if there was pension, health plan, anything else. 7. It's a startup that's been a startup for more than a decade but without everything a startup usually includes such as flexibility in working hours, remote work options, etc.

23 Things I Hate About You

Pros

The shell of twentythree is bright and shiny: Friday bars, free beer, good colleagues, big events, cool office

Cons

Inside twentythree is psychological terror. The toxic culture will haunt you from the time you wake up until the time you go to bed at night. The Ceo has informants who collect gossip on colleagues and report it to him. Management tries to control employees personal life, friend groups, social gatherings - all up for debate in meetings with management You might read this and think I’m referring to students/young professionals being the target but I am not. Seniors are not spared the micromanagement and nosiness. The reason for the control is because the CEO wants to control the narrative around what is actually happening. He has even gone out of his way to control this Glassdoor page- having his loyal managers write the few positive reviews you see. But the CEO’s need for control trickles down the stream and micromanagement is experienced everyday in every project as well as daily routines No flexibility around remote work for employees. They exploit student workers in a shameful way and students are rewarded with being fired right before their graduation as to not be given a full time position. Note: Resigned- could not see myself further developing my career there
