Pros

Work primarily with immigrant population

Cons

The staff go through minimal training and are expected to perform to high standards. Each program is isolated, with clicks and toxicity. HR is friends with a lot of the mid and senior level managers, so you can’t receive any help or hold people accountable. Staff are encouraged to gossip by directors to get more information about others. Including directors talking to direct reports about other staff. There is a lot of talking behind your back and also being disrespectful to you. The toxicity keeps growing instead of addressing it. They have high turnover. Staff treats clients with disrespect, as if they’re being bothered by clients.

Pros

good mission serving underserved and populations who are in desperate need of support and aid good insurance

Cons

increasing pressure from management to do more and more without proper compensation praise or acknowledgement of work that is above and beyond is nonexistent - you're more likely to hear only negative things that don't even include constructive ways to improve toxic stress is astronomical - productive stress would be manageable, but this environment is so negative that it really eats at your soul training is not sufficient. If you're not setting your employee up for success then you're setting them up for failure. some employees openly say negative things about other coworkers and the company without any repercussions. no support for when things get hectic or in need of some guidance. all mistakes are treated negatively for some employees, while others can make larger mistakes without any repercussions so it seems as though management has their favorites and you're kind of screwed if it's not you. watch your back! you can't trust people to be genuine with you. They don't always take accountability and ownership and will throw you under the bus if it suits their needs. claim to support marginalized communities, but do not hire many POC, disabled, or LGBT communities.
