      If low morale, bad management and incompetent managers are what you're looking for, look no further than the U.S. Mint

      Pros

      A springboard to other Federal opportunities out side the Mint.

      Cons

      Low morale. Incompetent senior management. Highest percentage of employee complaints in the entire Treasury. No upward mobility. Management lacks direction. Bitter in fighting within departments. Openly ridicules contractor staff. High turnover of contractor staff so no consistent level of support. Quite frankly, the only people who want to work there are those that don't know any better.

      Free parking, lots of food options nearby

      Cons

      The individual employees have no say in what happens to them. The Union and so called "ombudsmen" are a joke....flunkies to management. I once even overheard the Chief Council bragging about how many grievance and eeo claims his attorneys had snubbed out in favor of management. They know the employees get screwed but they know who pays their pay checks. Very one sided atmosphere.

      Pros

      If you keep your head down, you can probably skate by without getting into too much trouble or having to pull too much overtime.

      Cons

      Senior management has no respect for the employees. The business is failing on all levels, and senior management seems to not care. Additionally, it seems like many people in senior management are in their positions due to favoritism, and those high performing "non-favorites" are being treated poorly and forced out of their positions.
