The review published by the former employee (“Former Employee”) for Ultimate Asset Australia and New Zealand (“UA ANZ”) contains a number of inaccuracies, all of which are addressed in the response to the review posted.
The review refers to the founders and directors of UA ANZ include us, being Mr James Lyon and Mr Matt Bolshaw who drafted this reply to the above review.
The suggestion that we “conned” anyone and have “no morals” and employees "were forced to write the reviews" is completely fabricated, without any factual merit, and slanders us and our good character. We note that Glassdoor has not independently verified the assertion put forward by the Former Employee. We have made this clear to Glassdoor, which is currently investigating the matter.
In 2017 we invested in an individual who had complete authority over all operational and financial matters pertaining to UA ANZ.
The author of this review was hired by, and worked for, this particular individual at UA ANZ for two years. However, they were ultimately informed in February 2020 that there was legal action pending against this individual running UA ANZ, for significant financial irregularities that had been discovered, also in February 2020.
Upon discovering the financial and operational irregularities in February 2020, we immediately flew out to Sydney to commence legal action, alert New South Wales Police, and meet with UA ANZ staff, clients, and candidates to explain fully about what the individual responsible had done, and to discuss its far reaching and catastrophic implications for the UA ANZ business as a whole.
We note that we invited the Former Employee that wrote the relevant review to meet with us on many occasions to show her the evidence of the impropriety carried out by the individual that managed and controlled UA ANZ, and to discuss the significant negative impact the actions of this individual was having on the business. Unfortunately, the former employee failed to join us at any of the numerous appointed sessions, which were attended by all other staff of UA ANZ.
Lastly we wish to point out that the ANZ business supported this individual without question throughout 2019, where months and months of sick leave were taken (mostly on full pay), way beyond contractual obligations, and that the same individual did not return to work for the entirety of Q1 – 2020 – and was unable to provide any doctors notes for this leave of absence.
As well as legal and forensic accounting documentation showing the vast number of ways in which the individual managing and controlling UA ANZ misappropriated funds and failed in his fiduciary duties, we also have documentation outlining in full the Former Employee’s acknowledgement that we, James Lyon, Matt Bolshaw, and all the staff of UA ANZ were the victims of the actions of manager and controller of UA ANZ.
In any of our businesses and investments around the world, our highest priority is the health and happiness of the staff, and to continue maintain our reputation as a global talent partner to some of the largest and most exciting companies on the planet.
We are devastated that, despite our best efforts to fix the damage caused by the former managing controller for UA ANZ, the staff of UA ANZ have lost their employment.
Further to this, we too, as victims, have lost the entirety of our investment in that business and are no longer directors of UA ANZ.
However, we deny any inaccuracies of the Former Employee and have sought in this reply to outline the factual position.
We are aware of the identity of the Former Employee and have contacted her via our lawyer in regard to these malicious lies and slander.
