Pros

None--dissatisfied with communication in hiring process.

Cons

I was strung along for nearly 3.5 months, even though I was among the final three candidates for a role. After enduring a rigorous process that included multiple interviews and a hiring assignment, one would expect the courtesy of receiving a clear update on my application status. However, both HR and the Hiring Manager ignored my requests for an update. While I can accept the fact that another candidate was deemed more suitable for the position, it would have been a simple courtesy to notify me instead of leaving me in limbo for weeks. This role held a genuine interest for me, and as a result, I did not give my full commitment to other opportunities. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing and left me with a negative impression of the organization. "Justice in the details"

Pros

- Highly intelligent colleagues dedicated to the organization's mission. - Comprehensive benefits, including remote work, flexible scheduling, health, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) match, and reimbursements for cell phone and internet expenses.

Cons

- Leadership's lack of proactive preparation contributed to multiple rounds of layoffs, in my opinion, reflecting poor decision-making at the top. - Retaining underqualified individuals in key positions. - Some effort toward financial transparency, yet followed by seemingly irresponsible decisions that contradict initial communications.

Pros

UnboundEd is the first remote organization I've worked at full-time. In general, it can be tricky and challenging to build strong relationships with people you've never met in person - but I've been able to do that here! I'm excited about the ways we will continue to create space for us to build on our relationships, remotely. Benefits are very competitive. The org is transparent about how salary is determined and cares about keeping equity at the center of these decisions. Our organization is small so your voice does matter. We're continuing to define what that should look and feel like at each level.

Cons

While wellness is a value at the org, and especially within my team, we could do a better job at ensuring that folks have access to the resources they may need. As with all organizations that grow at a fast rate, there are growing pains that come along with that. We are continuing to refine and put into place systems needed to support us, and our growth, individually and collectively, in a way that is equitable and not rooted in white supremacy.
