Pros

In being fully honest, the company had same great amenities. A fully stocked kitchen available to all. Regular purchased lunches or cookouts. An interesting charity concept where each department cooks for the rest of the company. Most people there are friendly, or at least fake it well.

Cons

No real room for advancement. They say you can advance, but unless someone gets fired, quits, or retires, there's nowhere for you to go. Senior staff has been with the company for 20 years or more and hold these positions. If you have any issues at all, the management claims they care and will listen, but in the end they don't care and blow you off. I had a serious issue and management, Sr management, and HR department all did nothing. Management will also never have your back on anything. They will always take the side of the senior staff members, regardless of who is in the wrong. The company cares about a small pocket of people who have been there since the beginning. If you are not part of that pocket, they don't care about you. These people will literally smile in your face while stabbing you in the back...all the while telling you it's for your benefit. Plus the industry is collections and they all treat it like it's a game and not someone's life. People go in to debt for different reasons, sometimes reasons they cannot help...and these people just garnish wages, cease taxes, and anything they can to get the money and laugh about it when they take someone's money out of their account. It's sad and pathetic to watch, really. I started feeling guilty for contributing to this behavior so, after nearly ten years of lateral moves within the company, I decided I no longer wanted to be a part of this industry or this company. I guess it takes a certain kind of heartlessness for this industry and I had enough of it.

Pros

They provide a fully stocked kitchen of lunch meat, cereal, fruit, and other healthy snacks. They provide a charitable contribution in the community. They also do provide bonuses based upon the department you are in, and the performance of the department.

Cons

Many people who work there have been there 10, 15, or 20 years. If you haven't been there as long as other, often your opinions and contributions are devalued and down played. There is less of an inclination to listen to new ideas from those who have experience outside the company. Also, since many people have been with the company for many years, there is minimal room for advancement. There is also a lot of departmental segregation. Some people in higher up departments and positions tend to look down on those in other departments and devalue their contribution to the company. I've worked worse places, I've worked better places.
