Pros

Unlimited PTO if your manager approves

Cons

Benefits cost to employees are very high (~$400/mo for single insured) Org is top heavy with ineffective leadership. Problems brought to management will be met with answers like “ you’re right, but I’m not “sticking my neck out”” to address with senior leadership. Management’s response to rampant lack of accountability for follow up with clients is micromanagement that hinders effectiveness, and yields no greater result since employees lie to management so they can continue coasting through their day to day. Products are becoming dated because dev teams are nonexistent due to poor work environment. Unrealistic promises to employees with regard to advancement opportunities. Marketing is severely understaffed during a critical rebranding period, resulting in <60% attainment of new business goals . Company would rather invest in acquisitions at the behest of PE ownership than spend money developing employees to ensure continued growth of legacy business. Multiple botched acquisitions due to poor investigation of financials in companies they’ve acquired.

Pros

Their content is superior to their competitors

Cons

Their software is horrible. They hire management that don’t know what they’re doing. They have created an LMS that doesn’t work. If they were to concentrate on content and stop trying to be a software company then they will do awesome. There are so many issues that being a sales rep or an account manager or a CSM is extremely stressful. You can’t keep your clients happy when everything keeps going wrong.

Pros

Great industry to work in and Customers were awesome to work with.

Cons

-Very Toxic culture and environment, unlike any company I’ve ever worked for -Watched continual Backbiting between colleagues -Received No support from management -CEO mean and divisive -Direct Manager was more interested in personal success than in doing what was right and supporting employees -Wanted to like this company because the industry was so satisfying to work in but just could not.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We carefully consider all reviews to see where we can improve and continue to make Vector Solutions a great place to work. Our customers are the best in the world, and our team members are passionate about coming to work to serve our everyday heroes and their communities. While it is disappointing and concerning to hear that you faced some challenges in your work environment, we believe that the Vector culture is one that is positive and focused on supporting, encouraging, and empowering team members to do their best while also lifting up and recognizing their colleagues around them. Throughout the pandemic, and even before then, Vector Leadership has consistently focused on uniting and supporting team members despite the many obstacles we faced in 2020 and 2021.

Pros

decent pay, but still not enough to make staying worth it.

Cons

1. Vector keeps acquiring more small software companies and poorly integrating them into the "One Vector" family. It's become a Frankenstein with who knows how many separate departments that don't know how to communicate, and a reporting structure/org chart that makes absolutely no sense. 2. Constantly understaffed & high turnover 3. Absolutely atrocious onboarding & training for new employees - ironic for a company that boasts itself as a training company. current overworked employees have to try to train new hires in their spare time with no guidance from managers, because managers don't understand the software or the job that their employees do. 4. No support for remote employees. Offices have parties and events, remote employees get a virtual yoga session once a month that we don't have time to attend even if we want to since there's too much work.

Thank you for your feedback. We are determined to learn from previous acquisitions and ensure that integrating them results in a “best of both” outcome. This applies to culture, structure, people and processes. The high turnover you refer to is partly because of the current jobs market. It is regularly described as the great reshuffle. There are several initiatives that have been launched to retain our people. The onboarding and employee readiness program has recently been expanded to a two-week in-person onboarding program with dedicated learning and development practitioners. All technology access, accounts and tools are provisioned and tested with the new employee on day 1 in a live session. The program includes job-specific tracks and breakout sessions with managers. Employee resource groups have been established to ensure that remote team members are included. These include groups focused on culture, wellness, philanthropy, and several others. A company culture is not owned by managers and executives and Vector is building a culture to support all employees to make them successful.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. While we're glad you appreciated aspects like the hybrid work schedule and found our executive team approachable, we're sorry to hear that your overall experience didn’t reflect the culture we strive to build at Vector Solutions. We take concerns around management, role clarity, and fairness seriously. Pros

*Disclosure that I worked for a somewhat recent Vector acquisition Great people and strong middle management. Depending on what product you support, you'll work with wonderful people and be led by class act managers. Healthy focus on work-life balance. Occasional mental health days. Decent to fair compensation

Cons

Vector's strategy for growth revolves around acquisitions. Cultural differences depending on what products you're involved with lead to acquisition silos and a lack of a communication between them. Lack of career growth opportunities despite frequent communication from management indicating otherwise. Conducted multiple rounds of layoffs without warning or cause.

Thanks for your feedback. Vector Solutions has grown through acquisitions and we are aware of the challenges these bring. We have launched a comprehensive Growth Pathways Program which provides all team members an opportunity to own their career and take advantage of available business opportunities - even if that means a lateral move. Unfortunately, the timing and communication of layoffs is a complicated process and be assured that we care for and respect all employees at Vector Solutions.

Pros

pay was a decent salary

Cons

manager wanted to be my friend, not my manager; disorganization; another director was emotionally manipulative and everyone found her unpleasant to work with; in a 1:1 with my manager, she (who avoided dealing with her) told me to deal with it... said I needed to earn the difficult employee's respect and trust @_@

Pros

Great teammates and they were always willing to help out. Customer base was awesome to work with. Good variable pay. Hiring and moving up from within the company. Managers do not micromanage...for now

Cons

2/3 categories of Variable pay is mostly dependent on others. Times when you don't hit bonus even if you did great. Very poor leadership at the top level. They spin their words to make it sound great. Stretched way too thin for one worker. The salary pay was very poor when taking into consideration # of accounts overseen. Very quick to try and implement changes without any thought for preventable actions. This company will let you go to hire overseas without any further thought.
